Puzzle1. – Ten buildings A, B, C, D, E, F, G,
Q, R, and S are there in society and each building has a different number of
floors. E is not having the least number of floors. A is not having the maximum
number of floors. S is not having the least number of floors. There are only
four buildings which have less number of floors than G. D has more number of
floors than G but less number of floors than R. Q has more number of floors
than R but less number of floors than A. Both B and C have more floors than S
and less number of floors than G.
Puzzle2. Eight people in a family are sitting
around a square table. People sitting at the corners face outside and the
people sitting at the sides face inside. There are two married couples. At
least two males are sitting at the corners. A is married to C and is the father
of F and B. D sits third to the right of B, who is an unmarried female. E is
the aunt of G, who has a child. F is the uncle of D. The sister of A sits
opposite the sister of G. H, who is a male, sits second to the right of E. The
brother and the sister are not neighbours. The father of D is not sitting near his
brother-in-law. The nephew of E is not facing outside. The mother of G sits
second to the right of the brother of E.
Puzzle3.
– A certain
number of boxes are placed one above the other in a stack. Five boxes are
placed between A and E. Nine boxes are placed between H and A which is placed
at the top. Boxes are placed between H and A which is placed at the top. L is
placed three boxes below J. Five boxes are placed between C and J. Two boxes
are placed between P and L. Eight boxes are placed between E and P which is
placed at the bottom. Less than seven boxes are placed between C and E.
Puzzle4. Five people joined a company on
three different dates i.e. 7th, 13th, and 18th in two different months i.e.
March and August of the same year but not necessarily in the same order. No one
joined on one of the dates. B joined immediately after J on consecutive dates
but not on the 13th. Someone joined the company on 7th March N did not join in
March. Two people joined between N and H. D joined in August. Two people joined
between J and D. J did not join on the 13th.
Puzzle5. Ten persons J, K, L, M, N, V, W, X,
Y and Z are sitting in two parallel rows such that in row 1 J, K, L, M and N
are sitting and facing in the South direction and in row 2 V, W, X, Y and Z are
sitting and facing in North direction, but not necessarily in the same order. V
and M do not sit at any of the extreme ends. N is not the immediate neighbour
of L. M faces the one who sits second to the left of V. Two persons sit between
J and N. Either J or N is sitting at one of the extreme ends. Y sits third to
the right of Z. Neither Z nor X sits opposite to J and N. Y sits opposite K.
Puzzle6. There are eight friends A, B, C, D,
E, F, G and h sit in a line. Some of them face north and some of them face
south direction. They belong to different professions i.e. Accountant, Singer,
Engineer, Doctor, Lawyer, Teacher, Banker and Pilot but not necessarily in the
same order. B faces the same direction as G. C and D are facing the opposite
direction to each other. B is facing in the north direction. H is neither
Banker nor a Pilot. C is an immediate neighbour of the person who is a Lawyer.
A is neither Pilot nor Accountant. C sits second to the left of F who is a
singer. H faces the same direction as facing F. two persons are sitting between
B and who is Doctor. E is not an immediate neighbour of G who is an Engineer.
The persons who sit at extreme ends are facing the opposite direction to each
other. Only two persons are sitting to the right of the one who is a Lawyer. B
sits exactly between C and E. C is the only neighbour of H and he is a teacher.
A and G are immediate neighbours of each other and face the same directions as
H. F sits at the immediate left of the one who is a Lawyer.
Puzzle7. A certain number of people are
sitting in a row and facing towards the south. Two people sit between H and A.
Three people sit between A and E who sits to the left of A. M sits at the
second position from the left end and one person sits between E and M. G sits
to the immediate left of H. The number of people sitting between G and K is one
more than the number of people sitting to the left of E. K does not sit near E.
Not more than two people sit between K and P. P sits at one of the ends. More
than five people sit between P and H. D sits fourth to the left of P.
Puzzle8. Seven persons P, Q, R, S, T, U and V
are born in different years i.e. 1985, 1956, 2008, 1973, 1964, 1978 and 1959
but not necessarily in the same order. They also like different cars i.e. Audi,
Ford, Alto, I20, BMW, Swift and Maruti but not necessarily in the same order.
Calculations are done with respect to the year 2020 and assuming months and dates
to be the same. The one who likes Alto was born after the one who likes Ford. The
age of the one who likes Maruti is not a prime number. S does not like Audi.
The one who likes Maruti is younger than the one who likes BMW. The age of P is
the total of the one who likes Swift and R. Age of the one who likes Alto is an
even number. Only one person was born between the one who likes I20 and S. The
one who likes BMW is five years older than Q. U was born immediately before the
one who likes Audi. Q does not like Maruti. The difference between the age of
the one who likes I20 and T is the highest. The age of the one who likes BMW is
a prime number.
Puzzle9.
Seven persons N,
O, P, Q, R, S and T were born in different months of the same year i.e.
January, March, April, June, August, September and November and they were born
in different cities i.e. New Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad,
Bangalore and Pune but not necessarily in the same order.
A was born three months before the
one who was born in Chennai. Q was born three months before the one who was
born in Hyderabad. More than 3 persons were born between O and N. O was born
after the one who was born in Hyderabad. The number of persons born before the
one who was born in Chennai is the half number of persons born after S, who was
born just before the one who was born in New Delhi. T was born in Kolkata and
was born four months before the one who was born in Bangalore. The one who was
born in Pune was born just after R.
Puzzle10.
Ten persons L,
M, N, O, P, Q, R, S, T and U are sitting in two parallel rows containing five
persons in each row in such a way that there is an equal distance between
adjacent persons. In the first row, all of them are facing south. In the second
row, all of them are facing north.
Each member seated in a row faces another
member of the other row. No two persons sit together who have their names
according to English alphabetical order (for example B cannot sit with both A
and C and so on). All the information is not necessarily in the same order.
Both N and P are immediate neighbours of each other. L sits to the left of T
but not immediately left. M is the only neighbour of O. S sits 3rd to the left
of U and both do not face N. R sits to the right of L. N faces T and doesn't
sit at any of the extreme ends. R does not face in the south direction.
Puzzle11.
Six persons N,
P, S, U, W, and Y are going on a holiday on different days of the week from
Monday to Saturday but not necessarily in the same order. They work in
different posts i.e. Clerk, PO, SO, Assistant Manager, Manager and Cashier. The
Manager is not going on holiday on Monday. No one is going for a holiday
between SO and N who is a cashier. W is not going on a holiday after Wednesday.
S is neither PO nor Manager. Two persons are going for a holiday between W and
Y. U is not the Manager. Three people are going for a holiday between the
Cashier and Clerk who is not going on a holiday on Monday. PO who is not an
immediate neighbour of either Cashier or Clerk is going on a holiday
immediately before Y.
Puzzle12.
Eight people are
sitting in two rows such that L, M, N, and O are sitting in row 1 and facing
South and P, Q, R, and S are sitting in row 2 and facing North. Each row
consists of five seats. Therefore, in the given arrangement each seat in a row
faces another seat in the other row but the vacant seat in row 1 does not face
the vacant seat in row 2. One person sits between N and O and does not face any
person. P sits second to the left of Q. R sits immediately right of P in which
R sits third to the left of S. There is one seat between L and M. The one who
faces M sits second to the right of Q. N faces the one who is the immediate
neighbour of Q.
Puzzle13.
Eight persons i.e. A, C, E, G, J, K, N and P
were born in eight different years i.e. 1956, 1959, 1964, 1978, 1985, 1987,
1995, and 2011. All the information is not necessarily in the same order. All
the ages of the given persons have been calculated on the base year 2020. K's
age is a prime number. G's age is a perfect square but not the eldest. Only
three persons were born between G and P. Only one person was born between P and
E. C's age is an even number, who was born after P. N was born immediately
before J.
Puzzle14.
Eight persons A,
D, F, H, J, L, N and U are going to attend a meeting in a famous ground of
Pune, on different months viz. January, April, June, and September but not
necessarily in the same order. In each month, they will attend the meeting on
different dates 6th or 10th of the given month. The number of persons who will
attend the meeting before L is not more than three. Three persons will attend
the meeting between F and H. L will not attend the meeting immediately before
or after H. No person will attend the meeting between A and F. A will attend
the meeting in June. The number of persons before N is the same as the number
of persons after H. At least one person will attend the meeting before D. L
will attend the meeting on the date which is a multiple of 2 and 5 both. D will
attend the meeting after H but before U. J will attend the meeting immediately
before or after N.
Puzzle15.
Eight persons L,
M, N, O, P, Q, R and Q are sitting around a circular table facing the centre
but not necessarily in the same order. They like different colours red, blue,
green, orange, grey, violet, white and pink. Two people are sitting between the
one who likes green colour and the one who likes white colour. Two persons are
sitting between M and P who are sitting next to the one who likes the green colour.
R who likes pink colour faces M. S who does not like white is sitting immediately
left of L who likes orange. One person is sitting between the one who likes
white and the one who likes violet. The one who likes violet does not sit next
to the one who likes green. N is sitting second to the right of the one who
likes red colour and is sitting third to the left of the one who likes grey colour.
M does not like the grey colour. Q who likes the blue colour is sitting second
to the right of O who is sitting next to M.
Puzzle16.
Seven friends – J, K, L, M, N, O and P are students of
a school studying in different standards - VI, VII and VIII. Not less than two
and not more than three students study in each standard. Each of them likes
different things- Books, Mobile, watches, Laptops, wallets, Shoes and dresses
but not necessarily in the same order. N does not study in standard VI and
likes Shoes. The one who likes Watch studies in standard VIII. K studies in
standard VII only with O. L like Book and studies in the same standard as M and
J. No one studying in standard VI likes Mobile or Wallet. M does not like Dress
and K does not like Wallet.
Puzzle17.
Nine people are
sitting around a circular table facing the centre. A sits third to the right of
B. Three people sit between D and A. D and C are immediate neighbours. More
than two people sit between A and C when counted from both sides. One person
sits between I and C. More than one person sits between A and I. Three people
sit between U and J. U and B are not immediate neighbours. H sits second to the
right of V.
Puzzle18.
There are seven
people i.e., C, D, E, F, G, H, and I live in an eight-floor building. The lowermost
floor of the building is numbered 1, the floor above it is numbered 2 and so on
until the topmost floor is numbered 8. One of the floors is vacant. All the
information is not necessarily in the same order. D lives on the second top
floor. G lives two floors below H. Two people live between G and E. Two people
live between D and H. The vacant floor is neither the top floor nor the bottom
floor. Three people live between E and I. F lives on one of the floors above C.
Puzzle19.
Seven people go
to different cities by one of the three vehicles i.e., Train, Bus, and Car. At
least two persons are going by one vehicle. E does not go to Pune. B and D are
going by the same vehicle but not by Bus. F and the person who goes to Ajmer go
by the same vehicle. A goes to Amritsar. C goes to Delhi but not by Car. Only E
and the person who goes to Amritsar are going by Bus. F does not go to Ajmer. F
and G are going by different vehicles. Persons who are going to Raipur and
Nagpur are going by the same vehicle. D neither goes to Ajmer nor goes Raipur.
G does not go to Bangalore.
Puzzle20.
Eight boxes are
placed one above another. They contain different types of fruits. Three boxes
are placed between the boxes which have Grapes and Watermelon. X is placed just
above the box which has Apple and just below the box which has Orange. Box
which has Guava is placed just above U and just below W. V is placed just below
the box which has Grapes. T is placed just above the box which has Pineapple. R
is not at the bottommost position. Box which has Watermelon is placed just
above Y and just below S. U is placed above the box which has Banana and below
the box which has Mango. There are as many boxes placed above R as below T.
